Rural Connectivity

Challenges and Opportunities

Facilitators: William Liu & Michelle Baguley

Current trends in telecommunications will see the delivery of fifth generation (5G) wireless and Internet networks in the coming years. The goal of this session is to bring together people involved and/or interested in the possibilities allowed by 5G wireless and Internet access technologies for rural regions. The motivation is to share perspectives, discuss the governments planned solutions (RBI2 and UFB2), and most importantly, to build a networked community that benefits all New Zealanders. The final goal is creating innovation for economic growth and increasing the quality of life for every New Zealander.
